# Get started with Stralos

> Create your company and first admin account

Self-service signup creates a new Stralos company and its first admin account. There are two ways to sign up:

* **The free open beta.** Free for 14 days, for up to 10 people in your company. No card needed.
* **Sign up with a card.** A 14-day free trial for up to 3 people, then your plan continues on your card.

Going to `/signup` on your Stralos login site takes you to the open beta while it is taking new sign-ups. To sign up with a card instead, go to `/signup?card=1`.

## Before you start

You need:

* a work email address you can access;
* your business name;
* a password that meets all of the following rules:
  * at least 12 characters (maximum 256);
  * at least one uppercase letter;
  * at least one lowercase letter;
  * at least one number;
  * at least one special character (for example: `!`, `@`, `#`, `$`, `-`); and
  * no space at the beginning or end; and
* a credit card, only if you sign up with a card.

## Join the free open beta

**1. Open the sign-up form**

Go to [stralos.app](https://stralos.app/#register), or to `/signup` on your Stralos login site.

**2. Confirm your email address**

Enter your work email address and complete the "I'm not a robot" check. Check your inbox and spam folder for an eight-digit code, then enter it.

**3. Tell us about your business**

Enter your business name, your type of business, your name and your password. Your mobile number is optional. Tick the box to agree to the Terms and Privacy Policy, then continue.

**4. Open Stralos**

Stralos sets up your company, which can take a minute or two, then signs you in.

Your free beta lasts 14 days. To keep working after that, add a card in **Settings → Billing**. If you don't, your company becomes read-only for 7 days, and then access is paused until a card is added. Everything you've set up is kept.

## Sign up with a card

**1. Open the signup page**

Go to `/signup?card=1` on your Stralos login site.

**2. Confirm your email address**

Enter your email address, then select **Send me a code**. Check your inbox and spam folder for an eight-digit code. Enter the code, then select **Continue**.

**3. Tell us about your business**

Enter your name, your business name, your type of business and your **Country**, which sets the currency you pay in. If **Company type** is shown, choose **Standard company** or **Contractor company**. Enter your password twice, then select **Continue to payment**.

**4. Add your card**

Check your **Country** and enter a discount code if you have one. Select **Add your card**, then add your card on the card page.

**5. Open Stralos**

Once your card is added, Stralos finishes setting up your company and signs you in. If it doesn't open by itself, select **Continue to Stralos**. If signing in fails, select **Sign in to Stralos** and sign in with your new email address and password.

Your account is the company's first admin. You can then invite your team and set up the company.

## If the code does not arrive

Wait until **Send a new code** becomes available, then request another code. You can also select **Use a different email address** to correct the address and start again.
