Settings → Tender layout sets what your company’s tender holds and in what order. Every tender you download from Tender download uses it: the PDF and Word files follow the whole layout, and the Excel file follows its block order, colours, and logo. Your company has one layout. Until an admin saves one, tenders use the standard layout. Any member can view the layout and preview it. Only admins can change it; others see Only an admin can change the tender layout. The page has the settings on the left and a live preview on the right. The top of the page says whether your tenders use your saved layout, with when and by whom it was last saved, or the standard layout.

Page

The standard layout is A4, portrait, with normal margins.

Look

  • Heading font: Sora or Inter. The body text is Inter.
  • Table headings: Light has pale header rows with each section’s name above its table. Dark bands has dark section bands and bold headings. The standard layout uses Light.
  • Accent colour: the colour for headings and highlights. Leave it on Brand colour to use your colour from Company branding, or pick a colour for tenders only.
  • Your logo: Left, Right, or Hidden.
  • Client’s logo: Shown or Hidden.

Blocks

Blocks are the parts of the tender, printed top to bottom in the order listed. Drag a block, or use its up and down arrows, to change the order. The cover is always first. Use a block’s switch to show or hide it, and remove a block you don’t need. Select Settings on a block to change its options in a side panel. Changes show in the preview straight away, and are kept when you save the page. A heading can be up to 80 characters. Leave it blank to use the block’s standard heading, which is the block’s name except Notes for price notes and Price summary for the summary (Summary with Dark bands table headings). Client and company details, Text, and Page break have no standard heading. Use Add a block to add a block that isn’t in the layout, or another text block, page break, or Client and company details block. A layout can have up to 40 blocks, including up to 20 text blocks, and each text block can hold up to 20,000 characters. The fields you can use in a text block are {project}, {client}, {client contact}, {company}, {quote number}, {revision}, {date}, {valid until}, {tender price excl GST}, and {tender price incl GST}. Type them, or add one from the list under the text. The standard layout prints every block except text, in the order above, with a page break before Schedule of prices and another before Documents received.
  • Footer text: one line in the middle of the footer, up to 120 characters, for example your company’s motto or licence number.
  • Page numbers: shows Page 2 of 9 on the right.
  • The Priced in Stralos line, with stralos.app, is always shown on the left and can’t be removed.

Preview

The preview is a real tender PDF drawn with your unsaved layout, using your company’s name, logo, and colours. It starts with a built-in sample tender. To see one of your own tenders instead, use Preview with: type to search your tenders, then pick one. Your own tenders are drawn as they would download now, and a long schedule shows its first 150 items. Pick Sample tender to go back to the sample. Turn on Without prices to preview without rates and totals. Select Update preview to draw it again. While something is marked in red, fix it first to update the preview.

Save or go back to the standard layout

Select Save changes to save the whole layout, or Discard to go back to the last saved layout. If another admin saved the layout while you were editing, your save is refused. Select Reload the layout to load their version, then make your changes again. Once a layout is saved, Use the standard layout returns your tenders to the standard Stralos layout after you confirm. Your layout is put aside, and the top of the page says when and by whom. To undo it, select Bring back my last layout. Your tenders use the layout that was put aside, exactly as it was saved. If you have unsaved changes, you’re asked to confirm first, because they’ll be lost. A tender submitted before you change the layout keeps the files it was submitted with.
