Stralos is organised around global tools and project-specific tools. Use global navigation for shared libraries and administration; use project navigation for estimate work.

Stralos uses email code sign-in:
  1. Enter your email address.
  2. Request a six-digit code.
  3. Enter the code before it expires.
  4. After verification, Stralos returns you to the page you were trying to open.
If you do not receive a code, check the email address and ask support to confirm that your user record is active. Global navigation includes:
  • Dashboard: project and estimate pipeline overview.
  • Projects: the full list of your company’s projects, filterable by status.
  • Rates & resources: a grouped section containing the shared libraries and registers (see below).
  • Settings: company-wide configuration, pricing defaults, reference lists, and shared drives.

Rates & resources

The Rates & resources group contains:
  • Resource library: shared rate items, prices, categories, and pricing assumptions.
  • Activities & Assemblies: reusable activities, and the materials-only assemblies that go inside them, that generate priced work items.
  • Companies: the combined client and supplier register. A company can have more than one role.
  • Locations: all locations, including your company’s own offices, yards, and depots, and locations belonging to supplier companies. Use the ownership filter to view by owner.

Project navigation

After selecting a project, project navigation includes:
  • Project overview: the project’s stage, deadlines, actions, estimate figures, documents and team, as widgets you can arrange. See Project overview.
  • Estimate: the estimate workspace, containing:
    • Overview: estimate summary and status.
    • Takeoff: quantity takeoff.
    • Calculators: project-level calculator workspace. See Adding a project calculator.
    • Estimate schedule: the full work item build-up.
    • Project Rates: project-specific rate overrides.
    • Tender Submission: tender output and submission.
  • Documents: uploaded and synced project files.
  • Project Settings: project client, status, reference, dates, country, and location.

Notifications

The bell in the top bar shows how many unread notifications you have, up to 9+. Stralos notifies you when someone adds you to a project, asks to join one you lead, or answers your request to join, and about tender approvals, the first view of a tender link you shared, and a finished Tender review. Each notification is also sent to you by email. Select the bell to see your notifications, newest first. Unread ones are marked with a dot. Select a notification to mark it read and open the page it is about. Select Mark all as read to clear them all, or Load more to see older ones. If the list can’t be loaded, select Try again.

Command palette

Press Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows and Linux) to open the command palette. You can also select Search in the top bar, to the left of the project selector. The palette lists navigable pages. Pages from your open project appear first, followed by global destinations. Type to filter the list by label. Selecting an item navigates there immediately. Destinations that are not available in the current navigation are not shown in the palette. Press Escape or click outside the palette to close it without navigating. The shortcut does not interfere with text you are already typing in a form field.

Collapsing the project navigation

On desktop, you can collapse the left project navigation rail to show only icons. Click the arrow button at the top of the rail to toggle between the full label view and the icon-only view. Stralos saves your choice in the browser and restores it on the next page load. When the rail is collapsed, hover over any item to see its label as a tooltip.

Project selector

Select Projects in the top navigation bar to open the project selector. In the default Mine view, the selector separates Pinned and Recent projects without repeating pinned projects in the recent list. When you search or switch to All projects, the second panel is labelled Results. To pin a project, select the star icon next to it on the Projects page. At the top of the selector, switch between Mine (projects you are a member of) and All projects (your whole company). Browse projects and New project sit in the same row as the toggle. Select Browse projects to open the full Projects register. If you work as a contractor, you see only your own projects and there is no toggle. Below the toggle, a search field filters the list. The project you are in is marked Current. If you are not in a project, the badge marks the one you opened most recently. Selecting a project from the selector keeps the current workspace sub-route when you are already inside a project. For example, switching from one project to another while on the documents page opens the documents page for the new project. To open a project in a new tab, hold Ctrl (Windows/Linux) or Cmd (Mac) while clicking, or use a middle-click. The current tab stays on the project you are already viewing.

Talk with Doug

Doug is the Stralos AI assistant. Select Talk with Doug in the top navigation bar to open the assistant panel, and select Close Doug to close it. On a phone-sized screen the button shows only its sparkles icon, without the text. You can also open the panel from the user menu: choose Talk with Doug (AI Assistant). The panel stays open as you move between pages until you close it. If you do not see Talk with Doug, the assistant is not available to you.

Review with Doug

Some pages offer Review with Doug, for example the Resource library and the rate import page. It opens Doug in a new conversation with what you chose, such as a set of resources or import rows. A chip at the top of the message box shows what Doug is reviewing, and Doug uses it on every turn. Select the chip’s remove button to drop it and carry on with an ordinary conversation.

Your settings

Open the user menu in the top navigation bar and choose Your settings. The panel opens on the right and holds preferences that apply only to you. Every signed-in member can open it from the main application; it is absent from the billing recovery screen. See Your settings to choose your default office.

Text size

You can adjust the text size from the user menu in the top navigation bar. Click your name to open the menu, then choose a step from the Text size row. The five steps are labelled -2, -1, 0, +1, and +2 as offsets from the default. 0 is the default; choosing it returns the application to the browser’s base size. The selected step is highlighted. The menu stays open so you can compare sizes before settling on one. Your choice is saved in the browser and restored on the next page load.

Switching company

Open the user menu and choose Switch company, or select your company name in the top navigation bar. This action is always available. When the panel opens, Stralos loads the current list of companies you can access. Each entry shows its name and your role (Admin or Member), and the active company has a Current badge. If you belong to three or more companies, a filter field appears at the top of the list. Type to narrow the list by name. The filter field stays visible as you scroll, so you can refine the list at any point without scrolling back to the top. If you work in a company through a contractor company, its entry also shows the contractor company, for example Fulton Hogan · via Acme Contracting. See Contractor companies. Choose another company to switch. After the switch succeeds, Stralos reloads the application with that company’s projects and settings. If your access was revoked after the list loaded, Stralos refreshes the list and tells you that you no longer have access to that company. If the list cannot be loaded, Stralos tells you what went wrong, for example that your companies are taking too long to load or that your session has changed. Choose Try again to load the list again.

Session support

If sign-in behaves unexpectedly, sign out and sign back in. If the issue continues, contact support with the email address you used and the page you were trying to open.
