Default office

Your default office is the office new projects you create start from. Every person picks their own — there is no company-wide default that applies to everyone.

How the default is determined

Your default office can come from one of three sources: The Current badge marks your saved choice, including the automatic option. If the office you chose has since been retired, the panel shows an Unavailable office card marked Current. You can’t pick it again. Choose another office and save to change your default.

Changing your default office

  1. Open Your settings from the user menu.
  2. Under Default office, select an office from the list, or choose Use the first office (automatic) to clear any specific choice.
  3. Click Save.
A confirmation appears when the save succeeds — for example, Saved. Auckland is now your default office. Each option shows the office name and, where available, its location — for example, Christchurch, Canterbury.

If your offices cannot be loaded

If the panel cannot reach the settings API, it shows a notice and a Try again button. Nothing has changed. Dismiss the sheet and reopen it, or wait a moment and try again. If the Default office setting is not yet available, the panel says so. New projects continue to use your company’s first office until the setting rolls out.

Unsaved changes

If you select a different office and try to close the sheet without saving, Stralos asks you to confirm before discarding the change. Choose Keep editing to return and save, or Discard changes to close without saving.
